On February 21-23, 2020, Brothers from Texas Delta attended Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Carlson Leadership Academy (CLA) in Dallas, Texas.
CLA provides education for each specific executive officer position, as well as strategic planning and goal-setting for effective chapter leadership. The programming emphasizes the use of each officer’s individual strengths to build a complete team. Participants spend time on chapter analysis, large and small group sessions, and informal interactions with other chapters. Participants will enhance their skill sets and leadership abilities to help them as chapter officers, in other leadership roles, in group projects and, eventually, in the workforce for the rest of their lives.
For members who are not holding an executive officer position, they were able to attend workshops about the Balanced Man Program, Recruitment Skills, and Rising Leaders.
An additional benefit for undergraduates is the meeting and the interactions with brothers from chapters for several states. They were able to exchange ideas and best practices of a myriad of topics.
Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity was the first fraternity to establish this type of annual officer education programming. Just another first for Sigma Phi Epsilon.
